Authentica - Virtual Internships


Boost your career and employability by enrolling in Authentica's Virtual Internships!  The program allows you to build valuable skills while working remotely in a diverse team on real-world projects at innovative organizations across Asia addressing UN Sustainable Development goals. Work from anywhere, save travel and living costs, and combine with your campus study program. 


Remore internships through Authentica are unpaid internships.  The internships are with global companies and work days will vary between placement and availability.  (These can range from approx. 15 to 40 hours per week for 6-10 weeks)  Pitt students pay Authentica directly for the placement cost.  (Placement costs start at $495USD -see Authentica's price sheet for more details.) 


Virtual Internship projects have included:  Develop a plastic offsetting model; design a 6-seater electric vehicle for short distance commutes; develop and design health supplements; benchmarking study for waste incinerator with inbuilt scrubbing system;

Application Instructions: 

You must first be accepted by the Swanson School of Engineering International Programs Office, then you will be directed to apply to Authentica.  Prior to being accepted by Pitt, please read the Authentica application and website.

Hello! Konnichiwa! I am the Director for Global Experiences and Engagement in the Swanson School of Engineering.  After working for the JET program in Japan for just over two years, I decided to pursue a career in international education. I returned to the US via a few months of travel -slowing making my way west with many stops in stunning locations and with amazing people. Whenever possible, I continue  explore new countries and cultures and have had the good fortune to work, study and travel all over the world. I have been fortunate to work both as an administrator and as a classroom educator in higher education; my areas of interest are international, adult and comparative education.  I enjoy assisting engineering students seize global opportunities!
